Abstract

MORAES, Rafaela Scariot de et al. Emergency treatment of dentoalveolar trauma associated with fused primary tooth: case report. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.3, pp. 39-42. ISSN 1808-5210.

Dentoalveolar traumas are dental emergencies. The main causes are falls, sports accidents and traffic accidents. Most cases occur in children of school age. Fusion is an alteration in the development of the enamel organ that presents as the union of two teeth. It can occur in both deciduous and the permanent dentition. Few studies are found in the literature on injuries involving fused teeth and their treatment, due to the fact that the two entities rarely occur concomitantly. The aim of the study is to report a case of emergency treatment of dentoalveolar trauma involving a fused tooth in the primary dentition

Keywords : Fusion; Supernumerary; Trauma; Deciduous tooth.
