Abstract

MACEDO, Thiago Felippe Oliveira de et al. Congenital lower lip pits: a case report. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.1, pp. 17-22. ISSN 1808-5210.

Congenital lip pits are rare clinical findings, usually located in the region of the lower lip vermilion border, bilaterally at the midline. They are classically associated with syndromes, as in the Van der Woude syndrome (VWS), popliteal pterygium syndrome (PPS), the oro-facial-digital syndrome type1, and Niikawa-Kuroki syndrome, in order of prevalence. This present study sets out to report two cases of patients suffering from bilateral paramedian lip pits, followed at the department of Traumatology and Bucco-maxillofacial Surgery of the Santo antônio Hospital.
