Abstract

DANTASI, João Frank Carvalho et al. Dentígerous cyst in a maxillary sinus: a report of two cases. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2013, vol.13, n.1, pp. 41-46. ISSN 1808-5210.

The dentigerous cyst is a destructive bone lesion classified as a developmental odontogenic cyst. It is characterized by the accumulation of fluid between the crown and the reduced epithelium of the enamel organ, causing an enlarged follicle surrounding the crown of an unerupted tooth. Such lesions can attain large proportions, causing facial asymmetry, and their treatment is surgical. This paper reports two cases of a dentigerous cyst causing a major tooth displacement into the maxillary sinus
