Abstract

CRUZ, Mauricio Nunes et al. Strange Body to the Maxillary Sinus: Removal by Caldwel-Luc Approach. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2014, vol.14, n.1, pp. 55-58. ISSN 1808-5210.

Foreign bodies in the paranasal sinuses are relatively rare and are the result of high energy trauma perforating. Although there are reports involving the ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses, the frontal and maxillary sinuses are most frequently involved. This article reports the case of a patient with a foreign body in the right maxillary sinus for 34 years, where the removal, was performed by a Caldwell-Luc, which was successful and rapid patient recovery.
