Abstract

The periodontitis is characterized as a imunoinflammatory pathology capable of promote bone and tissue resorption, presented as principal responsible the dental plaque. The radiographic examination is one kind of complementary evaluation that allows the investigation of the bone tissue throughout suffered changes by itself, making possible, by its time, the investigation about the evolution of periodontitis or the maintenance of set up therapy. O purpose of this paper is to realize a literature review, outstanding several existent radiographic methods which detect alveolar bone loss emphasizing the importance of more sensible resources than conventional radiographies, as an example the digital radiographic subtraction. It is possible to suggest there are benefits on the application of digital methods that allows the premature evaluation and mediation, seeking future bone loss.
